Makrops delivers B2B enterprise software, SaaS, mobile apps, digital twin and 3D visualization projects on a modern Next.js + TypeScript + Node.js + PostgreSQL stack hosted on AWS / Vercel. The junior role is built for CS / software engineering graduates or bootcamp grads with strong pet projects who want **real mentorship + production exposure** in their first job. Pair programming, code review and weekly 1:1s are standard. Juniors typically ship their first production deploy within 3 months and own independent features by month 6.
Responsibilities
- Build UI and API routes in Next.js (App Router) + TypeScript on real client projects
- Add small-to-medium features to Node.js + PostgreSQL backend services
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-accurate, accessible and performant interfaces
- Open pull requests, address code reviews, follow team code standards
- Write unit and integration tests (Vitest / Playwright)
- Participate in sprint planning, demos and retrospectives
Requirements
- 1+ year of real JavaScript / TypeScript experience (projects, internships or freelance count)
- At least one finished React project (personal or academic)
- Comfortable with Git and pull-request workflow in a team
- Solid HTML, CSS, responsive layout and accessibility (a11y) fundamentals
- Able to read English technical documentation comfortably (B2+)
- CS / Software Engineering / IT student or graduate, or substantial bootcamp + portfolio
Nice to have
- Next.js App Router experience
- Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion or similar animation libraries
- PostgreSQL / Prisma / Drizzle exposure
- Worked with GitHub Actions or another CI/CD tool
- Open-source contributions or a published pet project
