Makrops Long-Term Software Engineering Internship (3–6 Months): Program Details & Roadmap

Applications are now open for our 3–6 Month Long-Term Software Engineering Internship.

Our goal with this program is simple: give interns the opportunity to work directly on real production client projects using a modern stack (Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS) alongside experienced engineers, backed by direct 1:1 mentorship.

Here is a breakdown of how the program works and what we look for in applicants.

1. Why 3–6 Months Long-Term?

Short 4-week internships usually end before you even get settled into the workflow. Grasping a real codebase and adopting modern development workflows takes time.

Over a 3–6 month span:

You will experience how features go from design to live production.
You won't just build static UI; you'll connect APIs, manage state, and learn clean code fundamentals.
You will have enough room to make mistakes, learn from them, and build confidence.

2. Our Stack

We build digital products on a modern, practical tech stack:

Frontend: React, Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
Integration & Backend: Node.js, REST API connections, basic PostgreSQL
Workflow: Git & GitHub (PR and Code Review culture), Vercel

3. Mentorship: Writing Code Side by Side

Mentorship is a natural part of our daily engineering routine:

Direct Communication: An open environment where asking questions is always encouraged.
Code Reviews: Every pull request gets reviewed with constructive feedback on type safety, clean code, and maintainability.
Pair Programming: We jump on calls or sit together to unblock tricky problems.

4. Who We Are Looking For (Requirements)

The whole point of an internship is to learn. What matters most to us:

1. Foundational Knowledge: Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and having experimented with React in school or personal pet projects. 2. Minimum B1–B2 English: Comfortable reading documentation, researching bugs, and following technical discussions. 3. Curiosity & Growth Mindset: A genuine willingness to learn, ask questions, and embrace constructive feedback. 4. Availability: Able to commit 3–4 days per week (hybrid/flexible in our Istanbul office) for 3–6 months.

Junior Role Opportunity: If we enjoy working together, high performers will be considered for full-time or part-time Junior Software Engineer positions upon completion.
